Marti Martini Posing

Marti has never been one for subtle entrances.

Some say she arrived in Charleston years ago with one suitcase, an impressive collection of sunglasses, and a very specific opinion about how a martini should be made. Others insist she’s always been here—that she simply appeared one evening at the Lowline, cocktail in hand, and decided she’d found her place.

Either way, Marti is now a permanent fixture.

By day, she holds court in the lobby, dressed in a collage of Charleston memories, local landmarks, late nights, and stories worth retelling. She keeps an eye on the comings and goings, welcomes new faces, and never turns down a photo.

But Marti really comes alive around cocktail hour.

She’s funky, a little glamorous, occasionally mischievous, and deeply loyal to her drink of choice: the martini. Luckily for her, Leeward happens to know a thing or two about making one.

Her order changes with her mood. Dirty when she’s feeling bold. A twist when she’s keeping things classic. Extra olives when the night looks promising.

Marti believes every good trip deserves a great story—and preferably a great martini somewhere in the middle of it.

So grab a drink, strike a pose, and snap a photo with Charleston’s most colorful hotel regular.

And if Marti looks like she knows something you don’t?

She probably does.
